Our Story

TTG was founded in 2015 by Jacob Porter to continue serving the LE Community with quality and detailed instruction in Armorer’s Training. After leaving Remington Defense to perform warranty repair for the Remington brands, Jacob recognized the need to provide an alternative to factory training for LE after many conversations with his colleagues in LE. The focus of TTG has been to first provide excellent training from the perspective of a career Gunsmith with over 20 years of experience and education. Secondary focus has been on making every attempt to remain flexible for the typically strained training schedules of LE while serving often smaller classes.

While earning his AAS in Criminal Justice with a Police Science Certificate in 1995 Jacob helped pay his way through school working in a gun shop and started to follow what would be his ultimate career path – Gunsmithing. By 2008, Jacob had earned an AAS in Gunsmithing Technology through Montgomery Community College and entered the Firearms Industry with Alexander Arms performing a variety of duties as ‘Chief Gunsmith.’ In 2011 as Remington and Bushmaster merged under the same holding company Jacob was recruited to assist in establishing the Bushmaster LE Training Program to be combined with Remington’s decades old Armorer’s Training. After several years of non-stop armorer instruction Jacob settled back to performing warranty service work for Remington, Bushmaster and DPMS under contract and helped found Triton Training Group. Currently, when not teaching Armorer Schools or performing warranty repairs, he teaches NRA Short Term Gunsmithing classes at MCC. nt, and critically necessary training to Law Enforcement. Our Team

TTG has expanded by adding two instructors formerly of Remington Defense, Aaron Sisco and Tom Beazlie.

Aaron, Tom and Jacob all met while earning their AAS degrees in Gunsmithing at Montgomery Community College in Troy NC in 2007. Their career paths joined post college as they worked for Remington to eventually all become Remington Defense Armorer Instructors working on the same team. 2021 will see the three colleagues travelling, training and continuing to do what they have done for years under a new standard. TTG’s level or performance will now become unparalleled in the upcoming year. New products and services are in development, upgrading existing class structure and presentation is currently in development with the help and input of Aaron and Tom. Our schedule is filling fast but we are looking forward to the new year and all of the exciting new opportunities, we hope to see you soon.
